On this episode of The Accidental Wrestling Fan, John, Kaz, and Damon discuss several topics.  The first topic is managers in professional wrestling.  The professional wrestling business used to be filled with colorful personalities not only in the ring, but out of it as well.  Freddie Blassie, Bobby Heenan, Paul E. Dangerously are some of the great managers that come to mind.  These days, the word manager seems almost taboo.  Dangerously, now Paul Heyman, isn’t a manager.  He’s an advocate to Brock Lesnar, despite doing all of the things that a manager would do.  More often than not, any sort of manager or valet character is usually just a wrestler’s wife or girlfriend (Maryse and Lana come to mind).  Will managing in professional wrestling become extinct?

The second order of business was WWE’s Superstar Shakeup.  First of all, why couldn’t they just call it the WWE Trade Deadline?  What is with WWE’s weird obsession with using verbiage and phrases that no one would ever use?  Daniel Bryan’s  GM character continues to come across as completely inept as it felt like Smackdown got gutted in the Shakeup.  Yes, SD Live got Kevin Owens and Charlotte.  Okay, so they might not even have Owens.  If he loses to Jericho at Payback, Jericho’s the one that comes to SD Live.  Why did they even have him show up if that was the case?  RAW, of course, made out like bandits in the Shakeup.

Finally, Braun Strowman committed several counts of attempted murder on Roman Reigns this past Monday.  You might not believe this, but it made the crowd cheer for Braun EVEN MORE.  Yes, that’s right.  The blood-thirsty Long Island crowd gave Braun Strowman an Attitude Era-esque pop for attempting to kill the top face of the WWE.  Face in the sense that he’s almost universally despised by the fan base.  In any regard, how soon until Braun Strowman wins the WWE Universal Title?  Can he beat Brock this Monday?
