The devastating floods in Louisiana have destroyed thousands of homes and have left thousands of families homeless. But why is there such little coverage on the biggest natural disaster since Hurricane Sandy (2012)? We explore some of the nuances of mass media in trying to dissect why there was an overall lack of attention to this major weather event. Additionally, we look at the meteorology behind the floods and the relationship between the deluge and climate change. We also take a look at the communication of the event before the onset of the initial rains and as the flood waters continued to rise in many parts of the Pelican
