Welcome to Episode 11 of the podcast! I will be attending the Introduction to BBQ Class on October 14th in Edmonton, presented by Motley Que BBQ and Cornerstone BBQ. This week’s episode was recorded on the Labour Day Weekend at the BBQ On The Bow competition in Calgary. My daughter Jillian and I spent some time at the event on Saturday afternoon and spoke to a few of the teams. Running since 1993, BBQ On The Bow is Canada’s longest running BBQ competition and is a KCBS Sanctioned competition. Over the years, it has grown to feature over 35 teams and also features music and entertainment for all ages and displays from local businesses. BBQ On The Bow is a part of the Alberta Cup which is a series of 4 competitions in Alberta. Besides BBQ On The Bow, the competitions are Smokin’ Q at Lynnwood Ranch in Aldersyde, Porka Palooza in Edmonton and the Battle River BBQ Showdown in Camrose.
