The phrase “radical islamic terrorism” was a major point of contention between leaders in both parties long before the 2016 election. But throughout the course of that election it seemed to be the major foundation on which Donald Trump was building his policy towards ISIS and the war on terrorism. And now in a speech to a joint session of Congress, the President of the United States has made that phrase officially part of the US approach to combatting terror.
