This week, they discuss what it is that makes the pop culture from their generation unique as well as any similarities between them. Chris discusses the song and the movie that define Generation X and Yancy mentions the song and movie that define Millennials.
Chris feels that the Simple Minds song, “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” is the song that defines Generation X. In addition, the movie in which it appears, “The Breakfast Club” is his choice for the defining film of Generation X-ers.
Yancy debates that Radiohead’s “Everything in Its Right Place” is the ultimate Millennial song and defines Generation Y like no other song. He also feels that the movie “The Matrix” is the essential Gen-Y movie and an important film for Millennials.
Is Gen-Y pop culture better than Gen-X pop culture? Chris and Yancy have their thoughts in regard to the generation gap between their ages. Which generation do you relate with?
