On March 9, 1950, Timothy John Evans was executed by hanging, following the murder of his wife, Beryl, and 13 month old daughter, Geraldine. Three years later, it would be revealed that their neighbor John Reginald Halliday Christie was a serial killer, responsible for the deaths of Beryl, Geraldine, and 6 other women. The wrongful execution of Evans lead to the suspension and eventual abolishment of capital punishment in the UK, and was dramatized in the 1971 film, 10 Rillington Place. This is Based on a True Crime.
