This week we have two very different films on tap. First we discuss the French animated film April and the Extraordinary World (2016). The film has a unique style that combines a steam punk aesthetic with an anime sensibility. Taking place in an alternate timeline the film is set in the early 1940’s where steam powered technology is still the dominant technology around the world. While April is a young scientist looking for a formula that gives the recipient immortality. Then we discuss the Todd Haynes film Carol (2015). A love story set in the 1950’s between the sophisticated and confident Carol and a young store clerk named Therese. Joe and Nick come down on different sides of this well crafted movie.

Next we have our I’m Right You’re Wrong quiz show. This is a speed round style quiz where Nick and Joe quiz one another about all things film. Nick has dominated these contests and this week is no different.

Then as usual we head back to the Netflix library to pick our films for next week. Nick wants to watch the new Netflix original documentary Voyeur and Joe wants to watch the horror comedy classic Tucker & Dale vs Evil.
