All that, plus we answer one of our fans online questions. TOPICS OF THE DAY 1. Historic election in Ferguson. Higher than normal turnout. Two African-Americans each won their wards, Ella Jones and Wesley Bell. This makes the 6-member City Council (50%) black. Ferguson’s population of about 21,000 is 70% black, but the City Council was predominantly white, as is the police force. 2. North Charleston, South Carolina, officer charged with murder for killing an unarmed black man, most of which was caught on a bystanders mobile phone video camera. 3. The Boston Bomber verdict has been reached. The jury has handed down a guilty verdict on all 30 counts, which makes Dzhokhar Tsarnaev eligible for the death penalty. What will he get?
