In 1963 The Beatles were unknown in the USA and couldn't secure a record deal until Vee-Jay Records, a nearly broke Chicago-based rhythm & blues label, agreed to take them on. The next two years was an adventure in legal backflips from various record labels who were clamouring to hold onto the world's most popular band. Today Beatles expert, historian & fan Bruce Spizer takes us through that adventure as laid out in his book "The Beatles Records on Vee-Jay".

If you like records, just starting a collection or are an uber-nerd with a house-full of vinyl, this is the podcast for you. Nate Goyer is The Vinyl Guide and discusses all things music and record-related.
