This week on the show, we're headed back to 1978 to discuss a film that's often cited as one of the best remakes of all-time, Philip Kaufman's INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS!

Don Siegel's original version of the story (itself based on a novel) was widely considered to be a metaphor about 1950s McCarthyism. How does Kaufman's change in setting (from a small California town to the bigger city of San Francisco) reflect the social commentary that he's trying to convey in his version?

As always, we deep dive into these themes and others, and discuss the creation of the film.
