Blood Sisters is sweeping the world and entertaining the masses with its thrilling twists and turns. One of the writers behind this global sensation is Zelipa Zulu, a child of Africa. It is no fluke that her words have contributed to the smashing success of this show. I sat down with Zeli to discuss her illustrious career as a screenwriter. We cover:

Zelipa Zulu is a screenwriter, script editor, story liner, story editor, head writer and concept creator with fourteen years experience in Film and Television. Zeli’s first feature BLUES FOR AZANIA (2007) led to work as a writer and story liner on the award winning SA TV show, GENERATIONS. From 2009 to 2016 Zeli worked as Writer/Story Liner on the award winning youth targeted drama series RHYTHM CITY. Since 2016 she has been Head Writer for the show.

Other credits include: INKABA; Mnet’s THE WILD; MzansiMagic’s THE ROAD, ISIBAYA, ISITHMEBISO, LOCKDOWN and ENTANGLED; SABC’s UZALO, MAMELO, MUVHANGO, MAKOTI, and political drama, 90 PLEIN STREET. More recently Zeli’s Netflix debut, Blood Sisters an original four part limited series co written with Craig Freimond produced by Nigerian Mo Abudu EbonyLife Studios was released on May 5 2022. In it’s first week of release Blood Sisters hit the top 10 ratings in over 30 countries across the world.
