Filmmaker/photographer Carter Smith (BUGCRUSH, THE RUINS, JAMIE MARKS IS DEAD) joins Adam, Joe, and Arwen (in studio!) to discuss his career journey and his new feature film SWALLOWED (available on VOD February 14th). From becoming interested in photography as a child growing up in rural Maine… to his short film BUGCRUSH getting the industry’s attention… to landing the studio film THE RUINS as his feature film debut… to returning home to Maine to shoot his latest (SWALLOWED) independently with a crew of only 8 people… Carter shares anecdotes about filmmaking in both the studio system and independently on his own, including how to retain a provocative voice in the land of test screenings and a puritan MPAA system.
