Just like Charlotte in Sex in the City, Nancy feels like she has been dating FOREVER. Where is he?! Well, she’s about to find out because Sheri has done some behind-the-scenes maneuvering and hooked Nancy up with a superstar dating coach, Bela Gandhi, founder of the Smart Dating Academy. Bela has been called the “Fairy Godmother of Dating,” and she truly believes that love is out there for absolutely everyone who wants it. She is going to help Nancy sort through the dating landscape and find men with GHQ — Good Husband Qualities.

In this introductory session, Bela tells Nancy that being single can feel like you’re a “pot without a lid” but not to worry — there are 35 million singles over 50, and most of them are online and looking for love. Listen in to hear Bela’s first phone call with Nancy, and follow along with Nancy’s matchmaking journey to true romance.

Takeaways:

[2:40] One out of three marriages last year started from an online love connection. Bela Ghandi, expert dating coach, assures Nancy that many good guys are out there on dating apps. Together, she and Nance will develop a plan to find the ones who exhibit GHQ — Good Husband Qualities.

[8:08] Bela started successfully matchmaking in college and she knew that she had to follow her calling of helping others find and keep love. One of her favorite things about her work is teaching people skills around how to find quality partners who make them happy, and to let go of old unnecessary mindsets and patterns.

[17:46] Online dating is a place where shy and introverted men feel they can approach women with more confidence, because the risk of direct rejection is lower. She also tells Nancy that she may meet her next big love while feeling for ripe avocados at a farmers market. Bela reaffirms that Nancy has many options, and that love will come in an unexpected way.

[20:44] Bela tells Nancy to make three seconds of eye contact with an interesting man, and see what happens.

[24:28] Bela deems herself a “true psychotic optimist” — she believes love is out there for everyone that wants it.

[28:34] Chemistry and lust is nature’s way into tricking us into attachment. Lasting love is built on companionship, trust and friendship, and while women look for the butterflies in the stomach, it’s more important to give someone a chance spanning at least several dates — unless one of the 40 red flags pop up!

[30:54] Bela has her clients journal three things they liked about the first date, and together they decide whether there should be a second or a third date.

[36:06] A positive mindset is one of the most important and magnetic qualities in the dating process.

[37:00] Bela says that two of the greatest times to date are when you are in your 20s and in your 50s!

[38:47] Bela gifted the Dream Tribe with her ebook, The Four Commandments to Online Dating. To access this, go to The Smart Dating Academy and use the promo code — Smart Dating.

[43:03] Don’t forget to join Sheri and Nancy at their inaugural live event in the redwood forests outside of Santa Cruz: This is Fifty with Sheri and Nancy: The Weekend. They have an amazing line-up of teachers and tribe-builders who are going to help harness our collective energy and ignite our dreams. Tickets are on sale now at 1440.org/thisisfifty.
