In this episode, we’re talking about why your nonprofit organization needs to be on social media.

By the end of this episode, you’ll be convinced that being on Facebook and Instagram is worth taking the time to learn.

Wouldn’t you agree, most nonprofits are striving to do better and grow? You wish you had more staff and volunteers. You wish more people showed up to your events. You wish more people came to your building. You wish you earned more money with your fundraising efforts.

Have you been using flyers and rack cards to advertise your nonprofit? It’s not that a flyer isn’t a good idea – but why do a little, when you can do a LOT? Why only tell 100 people about your nonprofit, when you could tell 1,000? Or 10,000? Or 50,000?

Here’s a question for you… Can you think of a nonprofit - or even a for profit business - who is having true success and is NOT on the internet? They at least have a Facebook page, if not a website, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, ALL THE THINGS.

Now is the time to get on the social media train!

Some fun facts about Facebook:

  • 68% of Americans use it
  • 51% of teens use it – 72% use Instagram
  • 50% of 18-24-year-olds get on when they wake up.
  • 2.1 billion people use at least one of the Facebook family of services (that’s Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, or Messenger) every day.
  • Social media use of time is second only to watching TV – averaging 35 minutes a day.

Facebook is simply too big to ignore as an on-going part of your marketing plan.

Four more reasons why you should use social media as a TOOL:

  • FREE marketing (Ummm… YAY!! Who doesn’t love free??)
  • Measurable results
  • Target specific geographic area
  • You don’t have to do it alone - I’m here to help you LEARN how to use this TOOL like a pro!

Specific Benefits of using Facebook and Instagram as TOOLS for your nonprofit:

  • Makes communication is easy and accessible
  • Helps get the word out about your events and your mission
  • Gives your audience a clear picture of what your organization is all about

Whew - that’s a lot of reasons to get on board!

We’ll go step by step in building your online presence - and I’ll be here with you along the way!
