Welcome to Episode 2106, where we present a session recording from the wine2wine Business Forum 2023. Today’s episode is entitled “New Economic and Financial Tools for Winery Strategic Development” and features Massimo Boccoli, Claudio Bergamasco, Giovanni Mantovani. Italian Wine Podcast is proud to be a media partner of wine2wine Business Forum and is pleased to present this series of market-focus sessions, recorded in Verona in November 2023. wine2wine Business Forum is an international wine business event held annually in Verona, Italy since 2014. The event is a key reference point for wine producers and wine professionals from around the world, providing an opportunity to network, develop and expand their wine business worldwide. About the session: The wine-producing company sector tends to be characterized by significant investments and high working capital absorption. In this context, efficient management of working capital through financial instruments typical of Supply Chain Finance can be the way to generate cash internally, promoting prospective growth and value creation. About the hosts: Giovanni Mantovani joined the Veronafiere staff in 1985, later assuming the position of General Manager from 1998 to 2022. He is among the minds who developed major international events such as Vinitaly, Marmomac, Fieragricola, Progetto Fuoco, LetExpo, Samoter, and Fieracavalli. Since 2014 he has been a board member of UFI (the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. In 2014/2015, he was appointed as a member of the Scientific Committee for the Wine Pavilion - Expo Milano 2015 by the Minister of Agriculture. He currently works as a consultant (senior advisor) particularly for the wine & food sector. He is President of the Fondazione della Comunità Veronese. Claudio Bergamasco graduated in environmental forestry at the Faculty of Agriculture in Padua. In 2011 he was added to a working group active in the field of subsidized financing for agro-industrial and agricultural firms. In 2018, he became one of the managing partners of the consulting firm Studio 3A Srl, providing services of subsidized financing for capital, promotional and research & development investments. In 2020, together with other partners, he founded Gate 39 Srl, operating today in the field of regional, government and European financing focused on the agro-industrial and agricultural industry. Massimo Boccoli has worked as a consultant for financial intermediaries and structured finance at major Italian banks. He then continued his career in supply chain finance, corporate restructuring, and credit mediation. The transversality of his experiences enabled him to realize the misalignment that exists between the financial needs of manufacturing companies - increasingly sophisticated - and the offerings of the consulting and advisory sector - purely relational and highly segmented. His goal at Hoshin is to realign the financial response to the real needs of companies through innovative product offerings.
