Welcome to Episode 1985  Stevie Kim moderates Clubhouse’s Ambassadors’ Corner – In this episode, Alice Barera interviews Marina Marcarino. These sessions are recorded from Clubhouse and replayed here on the Italian Wine Podcast! In this interview, Alice covers the learning objective: “A deeper perspective on the biodynamic practices used at Punset winery, an understanding of the most important characteristics of the Langhe terroir and the importance of Marina’s approach in preserving it.” Co-Moderator - Alice Barera is a New York based Italian Wine Ambassador. Born and raised in alto (alto) Piemonte,  Alice holds a Master in Business Management at the University of Bologna Business School and pursued an international career intertwined between wine sales, marketing and hospitality. She loves making Italian wine simple and accessible for whoever is willing to listen to her stories.  Connect:  Instagram alice.barera  LinkedIn LinkedIn.com/alicebarera  Guest Bio -  Marina started dreaming of becoming a winemaker when she was a child, as her paternal grandmother let her help with the wine-making process. In the vineyards she learned the life cycle of the vines, in the cellar she tasted small sips of wine to understand the differences between the varieties. She then realised she was really interested in this world when, on attending university, she discovered organic agriculture and with its methods a new authentic way to be in close contact with her vines, thus turning cultivation into a bond of reciprocal respect.  Despite her commitment and passion, the first impact was hard: the first organic harvest went lost, but this did not discourage her. Marina continued on her way with determination, pursuing her ideas and her choice over the years.  So we come to the present day: Punset is now considered one of the pioneers of organic growing in Piedmont and a point of reference for the village of Neive and its area, thanks to more than 30 years of experience and to excellent results.  In addition to her commitment in  the vineyards, at the end of the ‘80s Marina went to the States to gain experience in the marketing field, which was key to her becoming manager of her own winery, thus leading it to become one of the top producers of the area.  Connect Website www.punset.com _______________________________ Let's keep in touch!
