Welcome to Episode 1820 on Italian Wine Podcast, Masterclass US Wine Market With Juliana Colangelo. In today's episode, she interviews Giulia Cecchi About today’s guest Hailing from Castellina in Chianti, in the Tuscany region of Italy, Giulia grew up with Sangiovese coursing through her veins (almost). Her mother is the third generation of Castello di Monsanto winery and her father is the fourth one of the Famiglia Cecchi Estates. From early childhood, Giulia has been deeply involved in the atmosphere of vine growing, including working her first harvest at four years old! Growing up travelling to renowned wine regions, tasting food prepared by the best chefs in Italy, and observing her parents in their natural habitats of fine wine and hospitality, Giulia organically grew into a career focused on the remarkable Italian culture. Enchanted by the art, passion, and professionalism of the top chef and Italian cuisine, Giulia attended the Luigi Bocconi University in Milan with a focus in Economics where she completed her thesis on the Three Michelin Stars restaurants located in Italy.   After completing her undergraduate degree, she was compelled to expand her reach and knowledge, this time in the US. She landed in NYC in early 2016, determined to find her way into the world of fine dining. She joined the Solex Fine Food Group as their Italian specialist where she spent two years working intimately with high-end restaurants while also expanding her knowledge of the universe of truffles and fine wine. Giulia later joined Volio Imports, a European Fine Wine importer, as Regional Sales Director in the North East. Giulia worked to introduce new Famiglia Cecchi wineries to the U.S. market and increase her family wineries brand awareness.  Today, Giulia holds the title of Brand Ambassador for her family estates Castello di Monsanto and Famiglia Cecchi in the U.S. Giulia continues to spread the gospel of Italian culture, gleefully educating clients on the rich heritage of Italian wines. Motivated by her family’s passion for winemaking & innovation, Giulia continues to work towards sharing this wealth of knowledge with all. When not working, Giulia is running 10K miles a weekend and discovering new cuisines and experiences.   Connect: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_giuliacecchi/  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/giulia-cecchi-188821a2/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/giulia.cecchi.969/ _______________________________ Let's keep in touch!
