We're back this week with another nominee for the Psychotronic Hall of Fame! To celebrate the recent release of KONG: SKULL ISLAND (go listen to our minisode review if you haven't!), we're going all the way back to 1933 to take a look at the original big bad monster himself, KING KONG!

Synopsis: A film crew goes to a tropical island for an exotic location shoot and discovers a colossal giant gorilla who takes a shine to their female blonde star. He is then captured and brought back to New York City for public exhibition.

We'll delve into the innovative special effects techniques that were created for the film, as well as some of its deeper themes (and it's more controversial issues). Also discussed: gorilla dicks.

We’d love to hear from you! Contact us at any of the social media accounts listed below or give us a call at (864) 372-9931 and leave us a voicemail of 3 minutes or less and we’ll play it on the next show!

Theme song: “Foreign Body” by the Slasher Film Festival Strategy from their album PSYCHIC SHIELD. More info: slasherfilmfestivalstrategy.bandcamp.com
