Welcome to Episode 1418; part of our Italian wine interview series set in Dusseldorf, Germany. Today Joy Livingston interviews Giulio Bruni from Tasca d'alMerita Stevie Kim and her team travelled to Dusseldorf, Germany this March to collaborate with ITA, the Italian Trade Agency. ITA was organizing some incredible Masterclasses featuring the best wines Italy has to offer. Each masterclass was led by the Master Sommelier Eros Teboni (awarded Best Sommelier Worldwide in 2018), and they wanted us there to document the amazing 3 days! Tune-in each Thursday as we bring you the great interviews that unfolded over the course of 3 days. About today’s winery: 200 years of history, all with “slow maturation. ”Tenuta Regaleali, the mother estate comprised of 550 hectares in the heart of Sicily and property of the Tasca d’Almerita family since 1830, started with a precise aim to enhance native grape varieties and territories of the highest potential for wine-growing. Over the years another four estates were added: Capofaro on Salina, Tascante on Etna, the historic Tenuta Whitaker on the ancient island of Mozia, and Sallier de La Tour in Monreale.
