Welcome to Episode 1382; part of our Italian wine interview series set in Dusseldorf, Germany. Today Joy Livingston interviews Gottfied Pollinger from the Nals Magreid winery in Bolzano.
Stevie Kim and her team travelled to Dusseldorf, Germany this March to collaborate with ITA, the Italian Trade Agency. ITA was organizing some incredible Masterclasses featuring the best wines Italy has to offer. Each masterclass was led by the Master Sommelier Eros Teboni (awarded Best Sommelier Worldwide in 2018), and they wanted us there to document the amazing 3 days!
Tune-in each Thursday as we bring you the great interviews that unfolded over the course of 3 days.
More about today’s guest and winery:
"It's wonderful to be able to continuously take on new challenges, so we can make an even better use of individual areas. The Alpine climate, Mediterranean influences, and the fragmentation of the Alps with their complex geological origin, create an extraordinary environment, which has given me personally a considerable task and responsibility. My family has been growing wine for generations; this love of wine-making is in my blood. I feel attached to the winery and I'm encouraging its international positioning. It's always great to see wine professionals from all over the world turning to my knowledge and expertise, and to see that our wines still enjoy an ever-incresing international presence”.
