About today’s guest host: Julie Farricker is a Vinitaly Italian Wine Ambassador and Wine Educator, as well as an owner of The Italian Cellar, a wine shop that exclusively sells Italian wines. She has also traveled to all 20 regions of Italy and recently became certified as an Italian Olive Oil Sommelier, as well as an Official Ambassador of Orvieto Wines. Since childhood he spent his summers at Decugnano, 300 miles south, near the town of Orvieto (Umbria), where his father had established the Decunano dei Barbi winery. He graduated in Business Administration and not Agriculture or Winemaking, since he didn’t want to work in the family business and he wanted to travel the world. He worked in Corporate Finance for 5 years for GE in several countries (UK, USA, Ireland, Germany and Hungary). In 2008 he decided to resign and join Decugnano dei Barbi temporarily, to help his father. His passion for wine grew quickly and he decided to go full time at the winery. He became the CEO of Decugnano dei Barbi in 2015, and he currently produces around 13,000 cases a year.
