In 2018, Karamo Brown made an indelible mark through the Netlflix reality television and cultural phenomenon, Queer Eye. Before captivating audiences with piercing conversations and emotional breakthroughs, Karamo himself had to overcome challenges that were both unexpected and inevitable. As a gay African American man born to immigrant parents, Karamo educated himself, went against the grain and made sure to show compassion for others. These days, Karamo is sharing his journey as a father, a newly published author and soon-to-be husband — all while spreading empathy and kindness in a world that needs it now more than ever.

And as he poignantly writes in his memoir 'KARAMO: My Story of Embracing Purpose, Healing, and Hope': "We need to remove the lens that’s causing us to see the world in black and white. There is an emotional gray area that connects us all.”
