The Edmonton Oilers have their backs up against the wall in their series against the Los Angeles Kings, and I figured now would be the perfect time to record a fresh podcast to break it all down.

I don't think there's any doubt that the way the Oilers lost in Game 5 at home had to be one of the worst games we've seen from them lately and they couldn't have picked a worse time to make that happen. I mean, I was at the 4-0 game in Los Angeles and it hurt to witness, but last night took it to another level. Last night, the Oilers had the opportunity to put themselves back up in the series and show the Kings that what happened a few days ago was a one-off, but instead they dropped a fresh turd on the ice in the early going that had them chasing for most of the game. But even when they did pull themselves back into a tie game, Jay Woodcroft got in his own head with some of his lineup decisions and Edmonton dropped a pivot game in the very early moments of OT. Instead of going back to LA with a chance to clinch, the Oilers will be fighting for their playoff lives to try and force a Game 7. Add in the fact that Darnell Nurse got himself suspended with a ridiculous headbutt and all of a sudden Oilers fans are thinking, "here we go again."
