Born as Earle Leonard Ferral on May 12, 1897 to parents James C Farrel and Fannie Nelson in San Francisco, California; he was the first known serial sex murderer of the twentieth century. His rape and murder spree began in 1926 and ceased upon his arrest in 1927. He was responsible for at least 22 murders and was eventually executed for his crimes in 1928, at the age of 30. But how does one get to this point, at such a young age? Why was he called the Gorilla Murderer? And since this case is so old; what do we really know about Earle? Lots of questions; but how many answers will we have? For this episode, I tried to stick to the dates and the facts that we knew about him/his criminal life. In part 2, We will delve more into our thoughts regarding his crimes and behavior. So, join us tomorrow for Part 2 - where Brittany (from Where the Weird Things Are Podcast and I will do a deep dive discussion about the case, the people involved, our thoughts regarding nature vs nurture, and much more.
