Democrat and N.C. Senator Mike Woodard joins the show to talk about some historic moments in the Senate as Medicaid expansion and medical marijuana passed.  We will talk in-depth about the challenges remaining trying to pass the major initiatives and why he thinks the time might be soon. Later, we'll talk about another major challenge facing the state with the gas tax. It's a major portion of road funding, but continues to dwindle as cars become more energy efficient, and electric cars are becoming more prolific. How will the state replace those funds?  It's a conundrum lawmakers have tried to find a solution for more than two decades.
