The critics also love it, and everybody is raving about how much fun it is (and it was!). Where do we rank it’s Oscar chances? Well, you’ll have to click play on this non-spoiler review to hear as much. We do talk about how we and other great pundits rank the costumes, make-up & hairstyling, production design, and music in our review of the production values. Then we have a blast talking about it’s performances, especially those of Eddie Murphy, DaVine Joy Randolph, and Wesley Snipes before weighing in on the script and our predictions for its Oscar chances at large. Then you get some spoiler warning dance music to tip you off that we’re gonna spoil the plot for the latter half of our review. Here, we discuss the original Dolemite film from afar to open the section before diving into the major plotlines and all the bests & worsts. As an added bonus, there are some ripple effects from our schism over Parasite, our last OSP, and we have fun digging our trenches on that movie as well. This is our 19th episode in the ongoing Oscar Sprint Profile movie review series.
