The family of a Minnesota man believes he was targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, because of his public activism. Luis Candela Gonzalez has been detained at Sherburne County Jail for about a month. Friends and family believe he was arrested in part because he and wife spoke up against alleged discrimination in their mobile home community. ICE says the agency does not target those with a public stance on immigration policy, despite several cases around the country that allege otherwise. MPR Reporter Riham Feshir reported the story earlier this week, and she joined MPR host Marianne Combs to discuss it. Afterward, Marianne was joined by two guests for a conversation about whether activists are being targeted - and what the laws are around ICE enforcement. Kim Hunter, attorney, and Adriana Cerrillo, immigrant rights activist, joined the discussion.
