It hardly feels remarkable any more to talk about gun violence. It’s been the leading cause of death for children in the U.S. since 2020. According to the Gun Violence Archive, 2023 has seen nearly 37,000 deaths from gun violence. According to the Washington Post, there have been 35 mass killings so far this year.
