As the Denver Broncos prepare for their first season under General Manager George Paton, there are many players and coaches who enter the season having the most to prove. Cody Roark analyzes which players on the offensive side of the ball, the defensive side of the ball, and coaching staff have a lot riding on how 2021 goes for them. As Drew Lock embarks in a quarterback competition in training camp, he's one player who has a lot riding on how he performs. Melvin Gordon is entering the final year of his deal and wants to make Denver his home, but will the addition of Javonte Williams increase Gordon's pressure to perform? Courtland Sutton is coming off of an ACL injury and doesn't necessarily have anything to prove to fans or the media, but perhaps himself and overcoming the mental hurdle after ACL surgery.

On the defensive side of the ball, both Von Miller and Bradley Chubb have a chip on their shoulders as Von enters the final year of his contract, and Chubb enters a contract year ahead. Kareem Jackson returned on a one-year deal, but could he be in play for an extension after this season? In terms of the coaching staff: Mike Shula, Pat Shurmur, and Vic Fangio have the most to prove regarding the Broncos offense and for Fangio, having a winning record for the first time since he's arrived in Denver.
