We discuss the fifth democratic presidential primary debate, the candidates, the issues discussed and their performances.

Guests: T.J. Rooney, Will Bunch, LaFleur Stephens-Dougan

Last night was the fifth democratic presidential primary debate and once again ten candidates filled the stage this time in Atlanta. The Iowa caucuses are on February 3rd and getting voters’ attention has been challenging with all the media focus on the impeachment inquiry. Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg currently lead in the polls, but things are fluid with so many candidates including former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick stepping into the race and Michael Bloomberg reportedly contemplating a run.  This hour, we talk about what happened last night – what the candidates said, the policies that were debated, who came under attack, if any performances stood out and what this all reveals about ideological divisions within the Democratic Party. Our guests are  T.J. ROONEY, former chair of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, WILL BUNCH, national opinion columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer, and LAFLEUR STEPHENS-DOUGAN, assistant professor of political science at Princeton University.
