This Rewind Review is a little different than most, because this cheesy, over-the-top, indulgent racing blockbuster starring Tom Cruise played an interesting role in the lives of Alex and Wesley. Growing up in NASCAR country just north of Charlotte, there were countless reminders of Days of Thunder everywhere, especially considering the movie was filmed in our backyards. The movie was so big in our area that the local theme park (then owned by Paramount)  even had a Days of Thunder motion simulator ride! Harry Hogge's barn has turned into a local tourist attraction and the prevalent fast food chain in the Carolinas even had a movie tie-in campaign.

So wax nostalgic with Wes and Alex, grab a cheap American beer, eat something fried off a paper plate and enjoy this review of Days of Thunder!
