Good People Must Act – Daily Wisdom

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on trek.com/wisdom-trek-podcast/day-1943">Day 1943 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Proverbs 16:16 says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!" If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget. Today’s quote is from Edmund Burke, and it is, "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing."

Good People Must Act

Evil has been in the world since the fall of humanity, but that doesn’t mean we should just sit back and allow evil to flourish if we have the opportunity to prevent it. With the prevalence of 24/7 news stations and always-available internet and social media, evil may seem more prevalent today than at any time in history. Still, if you study recorded history, the opposite is true. The situation in the world today reminds me of the opening sentence in the classic book of The Tale of Two Cities. “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.” Considering that there are 7.96 billion people in the world today, per capita, there is less poverty, a higher standard of living, less manual labor, less child labor, less disease, less war, less oppression, less violence, less crime, less murder, more extended lifespans, more technology, more charity, and a more level playing field for everyone than at any time in history. Yet, even considering this, we must be vigilant to take a stand against all forms of evil, oppression, and tyranny. If we do not stand for what is good and faithful and follow the precepts found in God’s Word, evil will raise its ugly head and wreak havoc throughout the world. Therefore, let us build God’s kingdom every day so that we will be ready to usher in His kingdom when Christ returns to earth. trek.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Good-People-Must-Act-4-300x193.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="193"> Ephesians 6:10-18 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.  For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
