A Poor Worker – Daily Wisdom

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on trek.com/wisdom-trek-podcast/day-1824">Day 1824 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom. Today, we have a very special guest and one of my namesakes, Harold Guthrie Chamberlain, V, my nearly 10-year-old grandson, and son of my eldest son Harold Guthrie Chamberlain, IV. We are proud to pass down our legacy, part of which is our name. We also call our grandson by his Kenyan name, Kiprono, or Kip for short. His mama is from Kenya, and we are also proud of the rich history that ties him to Kenya, where his other grandparents still live. We know that wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Proverbs 16:16 says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!" If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. Kip is going to read today’s nugget of wisdom. Today’s quote is from George Herbert, and it is, “A poor worker always finds fault with their tools.”

A Poor Worker

The idea behind this expression is that a good worker would take full responsibility for any fault and not try to blame his equipment. Therefore, someone blaming shoddy work on their tools must not be very skilled. In other words, an unskilled person cannot do skilled work even with the very best tools. But, unfortunately, we live in a world where some people refuse to responsibility for the quality of their work. Instead, they blame their tools, work situation, co-workers, or even their family instead of being willing to accept responsibility. A person who does this will never improve because they constantly blame someone or something else. We need to accept responsibility and then take the necessary steps to improve our shortcomings and areas of weaknesses. Never blame; always seek to improve. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the Word of truth.
