Where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1420 of our Trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget: Today’s quote is from  C. S. Lewis, and it is:    God cannot give us happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.      God Provides Happiness and PeaceSo many people are desperately seeking happiness and peace, which will provide meaning and a sense of purpose for their lives.  There is so much unrest and turmoil in our world today, but this is not anything new. We have seen these types of situations ebb and flow throughout all of history. It stems from the fact that we seek happiness and peace outside of the precepts that God has outlined in His Word. God has clearly described in His Word what is required to have lasting peace, enduring joy, and true happiness in our lives, regardless of the circumstances which surround us. Even in the most severe persecution and hardship, as Christ-followers, we can be at peace, maintain our joy, and also find happiness in all that God has provided for us. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Micah+6:8&version=NLT (Micah 6:8) tells us what God requires. No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.There is no happiness and peace apart from God. As Christ-followers, we have God’s indwelling Holy Spirit who controls our hearts and minds, if we allow it. Jesus Christ put it this way, shortly before His crucifixion in https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+14%3A26-28&version=NLT (John 14:26-28) But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am. That’s a wrap for today’s Wisdom Unplugged quote.
