Wisdom-Trek / Creating a Legacy Welcome to Day 1275 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Wish for Success– Wisdom Unplugged Wisdom – the final frontier to true knowledge.  Welcome to Wisdom-Trek where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is trek.com/day-1275/">https://wisdom-trek.com/day-1275/ (Day 1275) of our trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget. Today’s quote is from Joseph Addison, and it is, “If you wish success in life, make perseverance your bosom friend, experience your wise counselor, caution your elder brother, and hope your guardian genius.” Wish for Success All of us wish to be successful in all areas of our lives. The problem is, just wishing is not actually doing anything. As a child, when we would use the phrase, I wish for… (whatever it was we wished for) my Grandma Burkhart used to say, “Wish in one hand and spit in the other, and see which one fills up first.” In other words, you must do more than wish, you have to act. In order for your actions to bring success, there are some things that have to be in place and incorporated into your life. The first one is that perseverance must become your close ally and trail mate on your trek of life. Without dogged perseverance, you will soon quit at the first sign of adversity. You also must gain experience because it is through experience that you will gain the wisdom needed to succeed and avoid the pitfalls of the past. You must use that wisdom to provide caution as an older loving brother would provide to you as he assisted you on your path of success. In addition to what we have just mentioned, you must never lose hope. Hope is what will drive you forward, when all seems lost, and you are heading towards failure.  Hope, coupled with perseverance, wisdom, and caution, will continue to be fellow comrades on your trek to success. Most of all, though, the hope that you have must be hope in what God will provide for you. He will make your plans successful as you are faithful to Him and have the faith that He will allow you to succeed. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Joshua+1:7&version=NLT (Joshua 1:7) Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do.
