Independent Senator David Pocock says this third time the government has dropped urgent immigration legislation and attempted to ram it through the parliament. With regards to the current legislation Senator Pocock says he's "already circulated a number of amendments" but says it's still unclear why this legislation was so urgent, and whether it will actually be effective.
