Liverpool claimed a place in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals as they beat Brighton 3-2 at the Amex Stadium.
Cody Gakpo's brace and a goal from Luis Diaz ensured the Reds saw off their spirited hosts despite making eight changes.
And the fact that the visitors looked cohesive despite rotating so heavily was what most impressed reporter David Lynch.
Goalscorer Gakpo also comes in for praise, as does stand-in goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros.
