Wednesday is here, which means it's time for a new episode of The Suitcase and The Scribe with Mike McKenna and Scott Burnside!

Mike and Scott are joined by Dave Poulin on today's show. Poulin played over 700 games in the NHL and was the captain of the Philadelphia Flyers for six years in the 1980s. Now, he's working with TSN as a hockey analyst.

They dove into Poulin's new career in media and how that came to be. He spoke about communication with TSN and how he came close to joining the Sportsnet panel.

Mike and Scott asked him if he saw any similarities between Auston Matthews and Mike Bossy. Poulin gave a great answer and then dove into some Bossy stories.

After their chat with Poulin, Mike and Scott talked about what went down in the NHL last night. Specifically, what happened between the Florida Panthers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. That led directly into playoff talk in the Eastern Conference and some of the possible matchups we could see.

In the Western Conference, the question most revolves around who can beat the Colorado Avalanche rather than who are the contenders. Could it be Minnesota? Do the Oilers have a chance? Is Calgary the real deal?

The show concluded by discussing Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf who announced his retirement yesterday.
