As a podcast host, you wear many hats, including advertising team. Should two hosts use the same type of mic, or can they use different kinds/types and end up with ok audio? Answer: It is a good idea for you and your co-host to sound similar in quality but we don’t think you need to have the exact microphones. But, if one host is on a $500 mic and the other host is on a stick mic that came with a laptop, well that isn’t going to sound great.  Most importantly, background noise levels need to be the same or as close as you can.
