BREAKING: It's over, pending physical. Per Jeff Passan of ESPN, Carlos Correa is in agreement with the Minnesota Twins on a six-year, $200 million contract with vesting/team options that could push the overall value to 10 years and $270 million. In a crazy ending to an even crazier saga, the Twins end up as the last man standing, securing their superstar shortstop.
This deal is pending a physical but reports indicate the Twins are comfortable enough with Correa's surgically-repaired right ankle to guarantee him the most money in franchise history. The final offer from the New York Mets was for six years and $157.5M but with the condition of passing a yearly physical. Correa and super agent Scott Boras balked at those demands, instead agreeing to a historic deal with the Twins. Let's break this thing down from all angles!
