This is Coronavirus 411, the latest COVID-19 info… Just the facts… for Saturday April 4th, 2020. The CDC now recommends that Americans wear a non-surgical mask while in public. The President noted that he will not wear one. The U.S. reported more than 30,000 cases in one day. Bringing the total to 278,458, more than twice the number of cases of Spain, who have the second highest total. New York State has the 4th highest number of cases in the world. New York City reported more than 6500 cases in a 24-hour period. FEMA has allocated 1.1 billion dollars in federal support to help New York State. Missouri has issued a “stay at home order”. The Attorney General notified federal prisons to “maximize early release programs” for vulnerable inmates, according to CNN.

The UK will continue lockdown measures for a number of weeks, as it appears the virus is slowing there. Germany and Thailand also note a slowing of the virus spread. New Zealand’s lockdown measures appear to be working. The Washington Post relays, they could be hitting their coronavirus peak just ten days after going in to lockdown.  Pakistan has extended their lockdown for two weeks. Bahrain International Airport will allow all passengers of all nationalities to transit through their airport, but will still limit who can enter the country. The Australian Immigration Minister has recommended that international tourists “take the next flight home”.
