This is Coronavirus 411, the latest COVID-19 info and new hotspots… Just the facts… for Friday August 7th, 2020. The Governor of Ohio tested negative in a second COVID-19 test, hours after testing positive on Thursday. A model from The University of Washington predicts 300,000 U.S. fatalities from the virus by December. They did say that could be lowered by as much as 66,000 if 95% of people wore a mask in public. Hawaii will begin a 14-day quarantine on inter-island travel. The State Department lifted the international “do not travel” advisory. Though many countries have travel restrictions against those coming from the U.S.

Global cases passed 19 million. Norway will reinstate some social distancing restrictions after a rise in cases there. Hong Kong will offer all citizens universal coronavirus testing. The Australian Prime Minister said he believes whichever country finds a vaccine for COVID-19 must share it with the world “without restraint”.
