This is Coronavirus 411, the latest COVID-19 info and new hotspots… Just the facts… for Friday July 3rd, 2020. 55,595 another record-breaking day for new cases in the United States. Florida crossed over 10,000 new cases, setting another daily record. Miami/Dade County announced a curfew from 10PM to sunrise until further notice. The Governor of Texas mandated face coverings for any county that has more than 20 active cases, as numbers there continue to rise. Pennsylvania will require those coming in from hot spot states to quarantine for 14 days, as will the city of Chicago, reports The Washington Post. Puerto Rico will require visitors to provide a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of arrival, beginning July 15th. The Mayor of New York City said school’s there will reopen in the fall. The FDA has granted emergency use authorization for a test that can diagnose both the flu and COVID-19. 

Three of the countries with the highest case counts and deaths, the U.S., Brazil and India, never properly shutdown or began reopening too soon, reports CNN. The President of Honduras was released from the hospital yesterday. He was in for almost two weeks due to the virus. Pubs in Britain will reopen Saturday, the Prime Minister has cautioned patrons not to “overdo it”. Like other newly re-opened business in the UK, they will need to keep a 21-day record of customers reports The New York Times.
