Nine countries, including Australia, have suspended funding for the main agency providing aid in Gaza after a dozen of its employees were accused by Israel of participating in the October 7 attacks.

UNRWA says it took immediate action - terminating the contracts of the small group of staff and calling for a transparent independent investigation. Helen Clark, former Prime Minister of NZ says the approach of suspending aid is "disproportionate" and has called for funding to be resumed.
