Deshaun Watson gave Browns fans a sneak preview of the future Sunday against the Commanders, and the future looks bright. On a sunny, 62-degree day at FedEx Field, Watson threw three touchdown passes in the second half to secure a 24-10 victory over the Commanders and improve the Browns to 7-9. Both quarterbacks struggled in the first half. Watson went 3-of-8 for 23 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions for a 45.8 rating. Wentz went 6-of-10 for 62 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions for a 38.3 rating. Watson was also sacked four times, and Wentz once. The Commanders, who needed a victory to maintain a realistic shot at the playoffs, dropped to 7-8-1.Nick Chubb was dominant on the ground for the Browns but that's it. Literally it. On offense, the Commanders defensive line dominated and there wasn't much to get excited about on offense for the Browns.

Watson, who made some sensational throws in last week’s 17-10 victory over the Saints despite minus-16 wind chills and 30 mph wind gusts to leave the Browns encouraged, flourished on the gorgeous day here. He had two touchdown passes to Amari Cooper (3-of-4 targets for 105 yards, 2 TDs) and one to Donovan Peoples-Jones (1-of-3 targets, 13 yards, 1 TD). Watson finished 9 of 18 for 169 yards, three TDs, and a 122.5 rating. Next, The Browns close out their season Saturday or Sunday in Pittsburgh. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
