Welcome back everybody to the nerdschatting podcast!
As you know, we gather around every two weeks or so and talk about the latest cool movie, TV show, comic, book or game that everyone is watching or reading or playing. However sometimes, we like to take a look at those nerdy things that came before.
For the next three weeks, we are talking Christmas movies. Movies that wrap you in a warm blanket of cosiness.
Over the last two weeks we have talked about Miracle on 34th Street and The Muppet Christmas Carol.
This week, Christmas with nerdschatting is It's a Wonderful Life.
This podcast is a FULL SPOLIER CHAT - so watch the movie first, then listen.
George Bailey is a kind hearted and hardworking man, who despite having dreams to build skyscrapers and travel the world, has never escaped his small hometown of Beford Falls. Married with children, and the Executive Officer of the small Building and Loan company that helps many of the other residents of Bedford Falls gain the help they need to buy their own homes, it appears that George has a rewarding life. However one Christmas Eve, $8000 is misplaced by George’s Uncle Billy, leaving the Building and Loan on the brink of ruin and George facing scandal and jail. With nowhere left to turn, and being told by Local Business Man and the villain of the story, Henry Potter, that he is “worth more dead than alive” George resolves to save his family and the Building and Loan (therefore the town) by ending it all on Christmas Eve.
