According to the Lowy Institute, China's standing as a military power in Asia is growing relative to the US, but its overall power in the region is plateauing.

The institute's Asia Power Index ranks almost 30 countries in terms of their relative power and influence in the region - including factors like their military might, their economic clout, and their diplomatic and cultural influence.
