Mashama Bailey is the chef and co-owner of The Grey, one of the most important restaurants in America today. Located in Savannah, Georgia, in what was once a segregated Greyhound bus station, The Grey is the subject of a new book written by Mashama and her business partner, John Morisano. Titled Black, White, and The Grey: The Story of an Unexpected Friendship and a Beloved Restaurant, it is a unique memoir that came about after tough conversations concerning racism, life, and the real meaning of partnership. Mashama joins us to talk about her book, as well as a new virtual restaurant project with Intersect by Lexus, which brings Mashama’s signature dishes to New York City.
