My name is Leslie Sbrocco and I'm the host of Check, Please! Bay Area. Each week, I will be sharing my tasting notes about the wine the guests and I drank on set during the taping of the show. I will also
share some wine tips with each episode.
2010 Simply Naked "Unoaked" Chardonnay, California $10
Going naked is a good thing when it comes to wine. This affordable white is packed with sweet, juicy fruit flavors, and though it isn't overly complex, it is highly enjoyable. Unburdened by the toasty, spicy notes of Chardonnay aged in oak barrels, this particular selection is fresh and vibrant and showcases Chardonnay's tropical wild side.
2006 Senders Cabernet Sauvignon, Stags Leap District, Napa Valley, California $35
Drink well and do good with Senders wines as a portion of all sales go to organizations that support cleft lip surgeries around the world. A family-owned winery in Napa founded by Dr. Craig Senders and his wife Karen, Senders produces a roster of reds that includes this hearty yet elegant Cabernet. Smooth and plush, it drinks beautifully now, but has the structure to age.
