The Los Angeles Chargers needed to find depth on Day 3 of the 2023 NFL Draft, but Derius Davis should be an impact player immediately. While Davis might have been a perceived reach, if he starts right away on special teams with some offensive gadget ability, it could be a great pick. Dan and David dive a little deeper on the Chargers late-round picks including their love for adding depth in the trenches. In the fifth round, Los Angeles took interior offensive lineman Jordan McFadden who has some similarities to last years hidden gem Jamaree Salyer with his versatility. Needing help on the defensive line as well, the Chargers were able to bring in Boise State DL Scott Matlock. Matlock is uber athletic for the position and the guys find it hard not to like a man "coming for souls".
